Can’t Lose Weight?
The battle to lose weight is a common struggle. Still, with proper diet and exercise, you should be able to shed those excess pounds. Here are some reasons that you may be one of those who can’t lose weight.
You Don’t Need To Lose Weight
Some women who can’t lose weight are already at the low end of their healthiest minimum weight. Still, they try to lose even more. At some point, your body is going to stop cooperating. You should talk to your doctor to determine if you are, in fact, already at your minimum healthy weight.
If this is the case, it may be that you need to tone up your body rather than lose any more weight. Some women see a little arm jiggle and think it must be fat. If you are trim, it may just be that you need some strength training.
Medical Condition
While not terribly common, there may be a medical reason behind your inability to lose weight. If you are truly eating right and exercising, you should ask your doctor if there could be a medical condition behind your weight gain and/or the fact that you can’t lose weight.

Low Metabolism
There are some other studies that claim to prove that what your mother ate could have an impact on your ability to lose weight. There is no point in discussing that here, because there is nothing that you can do about it. Instead of looking for what you can blame the extra weight on, you should concentrate on looking for ways to get rid of it.
Mistakes in the Plan
This is probably the most common reason. Many women think that they are doing everything right, but even one glitch in your diet and exercise plan can put the brakes on your weight loss.
For example, if you eat salad every day for lunch but use a fatty dressing, that is adding over a thousand calories a week to your total intake. If you drink one soda a day, that is adding over two thousand calories a week. Not drinking enough water is another common culprit.
Even if you think that you eat healthy, it might be a good idea to make an appointment with a nutritionist. Write down every single thing you eat for a couple of weeks before the appointment. Include dressings, butter, soda…everything.
The nutritionist will be able to look at what you are eating and then make recommendations about ways to improve.
Another place you might be falling short is in the exercise department. If you already workout, try adding another fifteen to thirty minutes of cardio per day.
Also, studies have found that even moderate strength training can have a positive impact on how much weight you will be able to lose.
Consider joining an exercise group. Being around other people with similar goals will give you someone to be accountable to as well as motivate you to show up for a workout even on days when you might not feel like it.
Whatever the reason, there is more than likely a solution to the fact that you can’t lose weight. It may take intervention from your doctor, or you may just need to step up your exercise routine.
Whatever the case may be, the sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll be on the road to losing those unwanted pounds.
