With all the thousands of diet plans out there, each one claiming to be the best, how can you figure out the most effective weight loss method? It’s honestly much simpler than it seems, especially when you consider that the best diet plan isn’t a diet at all.
Diet plans are not the best way to lose weight for a variety of reasons. Of course some of the reasons are specific to each diet, but some can be applied to most of them.
First, diets are, by design intended to be only temporary. The users lose some weight, but then they gain it all back when they come off of the diet.
Another problem with most diet plans is that there are foods that are forbidden. This is a problems for some dieters because, should they go off the plan and eat one of the forbidden foods, they feel guilty and then, often, end up going on a binge that lasts a whole day or more.

Instead of trying to figure out which diet plan is right for you, the most effective weight loss method is about learning how to eat healthy and then making good eating decisions the majority of the time. Some people don’t know where to start when it comes to healthy eating.
If you really feel clueless, you should make an appointment with a nutritionist. One or two appointments is all you should need, and it will be well worth the investment.
Once you learn about healthy eating, which includes a lot of fruits, veggies and whole grains, moderate amounts of lean meat and fish and small amounts of fat, you’ll be equipped to make choices that will help you lose weight.
The weight loss, however, should be considered a secondary benefit to your new way of eating. You’ll feel better, your skin may improve, you’ll have more energy and, best of all, you will be lowering your risk of certain medical conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
You’re not going on a diet. Instead, you are learning a new way to look at food. The best part is that there are no forbidden foods. If you want an occasional brownie or cheesy lasagna, you’ll be able to eat it. Of course, you must make healthy choices around 90% of the time.
If you do that, you’ll be able to afford a treat once in a while. Because no foods are forbidden, on those times that you do eat something less than healthy, there will be no reason to feel guilty or feel like you failed. Just enjoy your splurge and get right back to healthy eating when it’s done.
If you eat according to healthy guidelines and need to lose weight, you should lose between one and three pounds per week. This might not be the quick dramatic change for which you were hoping, but when you lose weight at this gradual pace, you have a much better chance of keeping it off.
In addition to learning how to eat healthy and doing so 90% of the time, the most effective weight loss method has another component as well: exercise. That doesn’t mean you need to train for a triathlon. You do, however, need to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio five times a week. Also, some weight training can not only help you look more toned, but can help you lose weight faster as well.
The most effective weight loss method is really very simple. Make good food choices most of the time and exercise five times a week.
